As we start 2024, we have received notice that seafreight rates will be increasing from 15/1/24 for both LCL and FCL shipments from the South East Asia Region to Australia, even though shipping line capacity is being artificially increased due to reduced vessels / capacity etc. At this time, the rate is variable between shipping lines, but looks to be between US$200.00 - US$800.00 per TEU, and LCLs increasing by US$20.00 - US$50.00 W/M. With the attacks on the Red Sea trade lane, shipping lines are also taking an opportunity to increase their freight pricing in other lanes also so please keep this in mind.
With the increase in union strike action at DP World across Australia, DP World have pushed back their increase in wharf fees to start on the 1/2/24. Patrick Stevedores will announce their price increases at the start of February to commence in March 24.
Some transports, unpack depots, and air terminals have emailed to advise price increases to start 1/1/24, due to the rise in inflation and other increases throughout 2023. We will try and minimise all price increases coming to you and find the best solutions to your shipping and freight needs.
